Portobello Express
Portobello Express is a Vienna based Sixties-Mod band that was founded in early 2016 by Happy Betty coming from Italys´ finest freakbeaters „The Victorians“ , and Patrick Nagl from R&B legends „The Jaybirds“. The band’s sound is based on Sixties Rhythm & Soul, Psych Rock and Blues tunes. All the bandmembers are longtime part of the European Mod subculture.
Portobello Express is: „Happy Betty“ – Vocals (The Victorians, Happy Betty & The Vips, Special X), Patrick „Slowhand“ Nagl – Guitars & Vocals ( The Jaybirds, Music Apartment, Medusa), Danny Bianchi – Bass & Vocals (Early Grey) and Norbert Zierler – Drums (Glorious Rags, Rotifer)
During the last two years Portobello Express played serveral shows in the mod circuit around Austria and Italy and also shared the bill with UKs finest Heavyball, the Movement (DK) and the Cheekbonians (CH) just to name a few.
After their first CD release and a changing of the drummer in autumn 2017 the band is now busy on arranging some brandnew material for an upcoming recordingsession and further live shows. The Beat goes on!

Wise Monkey
Wise Monkey was founded in 2014 in Vienna by guitarist Robert „Flappo“ Eder, percussionist Gerald Penz and singer Mario Cerneti as a self-described live band, mixing R’n’B, Beat and Brit Pop.
Their catchy songs like Georgie McCann conquered the audience immediately and so it happened, that Franz „Znarf“ Huber joined the band in 2015 as one of Austrias best hammond organists. In 2016 Mario Cerneti left the band and Wise Monkey used this as a relaunch. Gifted Tom Hansmann became the new singer, Znarf switched to the bass and left the organ to Julia Bachmair, later to Albert Kastl. Since January 2017 brilliant Stefan Kawinek is doing a great job on the drums. The crowning element in the band is Birgit Sekanina as female backing vocal.
Reguarding the bands musical repertoire the song „Wise Monkey“ is an exception for enlarging the R’n’B sound with funky elements. The text itselfs as the bands name is an allusion to Londons regiolect Cockney.
